El Teide – Gran Canaria | 110 km.

Taken from the summit of pico “El Teide” as the sun rose on the morning of Sunday 16th of November.

General distribution of view can be seen here, covering more than a hundred kilometers trough Atlantic ocean in Canary Islands:


Conditions on summit included some sulfur vapour gases from Teide’s crater and spectacular sights all around, with magnificient views over the other Canary Islands.

Gran Canaria island is clearly visible in the middle of the image, with a red-colored background produced by the sun in its movement upwards. The peaks can bee seen here, including astronomy observatory on the top:


Zooming the image, the observatory at the top of Pico de las Nieves becomes even clearer:


Views from the top were amazing, but trekking to the top of Teide by night, as the sun was step by step illuminating the scene was not worse. This image clearly represents the feeling of our group while going up, at 6:45 a.m.
